Evolving through a prolonged shared process of movement and perception between Sandra Cvitkovac and model Maja Backovic, the series Talk to Me explores the porous boundary between human and stone. The impossibility of communication with a matter of different density becomes a dwelling ground for dealing with the unknown – and with e psyche`s urge to reach beyond itself. It opens a space for mythological, archetypal, and animalistic exploration through metaphysical metaphor — which does not stand for something, does not symbolize, illustrate, or translate an idea, but rather manifests an experience directly as presence itself.
Instinctive gestures of vulnerability and tension create a visual choreography that embodies the amplitude of existence, oscilating between between surface endeavor and the wild inner self. In its dynamics, the series becomes a meditation on presence, density, and the unspoken communication that connects us with nature – and with the deeper layars of our own being.
